Kasiroubas Brothers Produce (http://www.katsiroubasproduce.com) has been supplying the highest quality produce to restaurants, hotels, and institutions since 1914. Their presence on the web consisted of a single page with some email addresses and address information.

In recent years, some of their larger customers started pressuring them to provide online ordering capability. They hired MMCIS to create a public website that would showcase their products and services, as well as to program an online ordering system for their larger customer.

The requirements for the system were that it had to integrate with their back office system, and have a user interface that would be familiar to the clients and employees who were used to working with the paper/phone/FAX system. Some of the custom requirements were the ability to present each customer with a custom order form, support ordering the same product with different quantity types (such as each, half-case, case, etc.), and to synchronize pricing that is updated several times a week.

MMCIS worked with the Katsiroubas people responsible for the order entry and customer pricing functions, the vendor whose back end software Katsiroubas uses, as well as meeting with a major customer to ensure their needs were being met, to deliver a feature rich online ordering system that is easy to use by their customers and employees alike.

The system enforces business rules related to the timing of deliveries for customers, allows multiple users per customer, simplifies reporting and maintenance of the online orders, and provide for easy maintenance of customer logins.
